Hi, anyone can advise?

Is this brand decent for the price? Need to replace my tap as its dripping and cannot replace the cartridge.

I am on a budget, so do not want a mega expensive one but at the same time willing to spend a decent amount as long as it lasts a good time. Would say a max price of £90.

Would appreciate any recommendations. Also preferably same style taps as would like to stick to my original model style.

It's a budget brand. If it has ceramic valves you might not be able to find matching replacement parts.

Why can't the old one be repaired? Is it because you can't find replacement parts?

Cant replace the cartridges as used glue and fire to do a temporary fix and you cannot remove the cartridges at all.

What brand would you recommend? Any links would be recommend please. Not too expensive but decent quality and preferably similar style

I am not a plumber, but I find Bristan taps to be very good. Spares are easy to find. You often find them on discount, or stock clearance at attractive prices. I have had some good deals at Plumbworld. Screwfix carry a few.

All the retailers sell cheap stuff for people who want to buy cheap. You might be lucky, but taps ought to last for many years.

You are not the first person to say bristan is a very good brand. Some taps have got mixed reviews but it is impossible to find something with 100% positivity.

Had a look at plumbworld, they dont seem to do a great wide range, its only a couple ones as shown in my first message

There are a few at Screwfix.

You might find "end of range" offers at other suppliers.

Appreciate the advice, looks like amazon do a couple strictly sold and dispatched by themselves which is fab. I do love amazon as there returns system etc is great.

Would you say then its easy to find spare bristan cartridges?

Not keen on tbe spikes.

You will not hurt yourself on a knob.

Does it matter if the base is square shaped or circle shaped? My current one has square based on either side

If anything, try to buy traditional screw down compression type valves - avoid 1/4 turn ceramic types.

Ceramic valve taps seem to have a relatively short lifespan - 2-3 years before the valves start to go in a lot of cases and then it just easier to replace the whole valve. Older types screw down valve washers are really simple to replace, cost pennies and take mins to sort out.
