battery ampage

I tested the ampage of a 1.5 volt aa battery with my meter recently and the battery got very hot .How did that happen
 
because it was sourcing many amps to feed into the short circuit you applied to it :lol:

In current mode your meter has a very low resistance and looked like a short to the battery.

WARNING!!
Be careful a shorted battery could explode in your face
 
Errrr you set your multi meter to amps and stuck a battery across the terminals! No wonder it got hot!! The amp setting creates a circuit through the meter usualy upto a max of 10A or 20A, in other words you shorted it out.
 
Some people are a danger to themselves.


A battery connected to nothing has no amps!
 
Your battery is now fu - err - rendered unservicable.
