Baumatic BDI631 dishwasher problem wont wash dishes

i have a baumatic bdi631 dishwasher, now 18months old. It worked perfectly until... after a wash everything had come out dirty as if it hadnt washed at all, the only evidence the cycle had run was that the detergent capsule had been released but even that had hardly even got wet.

the machine starts its cycle normally, pumping out the water residue, then refilling with water (to about the level of the base) but does not kick in to the pumping/washing routine. what might be wrong, how can i fix it?

Baumatic isn't really my thing...but generally speaking no-wash issues usually boil down to one of the following:
Spray arms blocked - defective wash motor capacitor - impeller jammed - wash motor faulty - pressure loss.
