Baumatic dishwasher - Door will not shut!!! HELP

Hi

Our Baumatic dishwaher (BDW13) has not been cleaning properly. I wanted to see if the spray arms were spinning when turned on so I thought I would try and run the dishwasher with the door open. I thought if I pushed down the white catch in the door this would enable it to run with the door open. It didn't...and now the door will not close and nothing responds on the dishwasher.

Anyone have any ideas how to get an idiot out of trouble?

Power off first. Get a loop of thin wire and lassoo the white catch you pressed down. Pull it back into the open position.

Power off before working on your appliance.
