hello again, my boiler still loosing pressure. my dad tried a test to see if it was boiler by disconnecting from central hating system and in 24 hours it just lost half a bar. since then it was reconnected and since connected back to heating system the pressure dropped to 0 within 24 hours. no water came out of the overflow pipe, and i have checked all the radiator pipes and cannot find any leak. I am so hoping this does not mean i have to get someone in to go under the floor boards to check all the pipe work as i will end up having to replace laminate flooring as it never goes back down the way it should. I must admit it has never had a fault in 7 years but i also have never got round to having it serviced. I am dreading how much this is going to cost to fix :? :? :? :?

central hating system

What an appropriate typo! I bet you do hate it right now.

no water came out of the overflow pipe

I take it you mean the pressure relief pipe.
Are you 100% sure about this? What is the pressure cold and the pressure with the system hot? It could be something to do with the pressure vessel.
Tie a bag to the prv pipe outside and monitor it. There is a chance it has been leaking while you were not looking.

Just hope I am right about that. If not the only thing I can say to console you is that you wont be the first or last to lay laminate over a floor with leaking pipes underneath it. I remember a case of someone spending £3k on laminate flooring and whoever fitted it had nailed a pipe below while patching up a rotted joist. It could have been anywhere. Fortunately the owner remembered seeing this bit of dodgy woodwork going on near the front door and luckily that was indeed where they had nailed it.

yes i mean the pressure relief pipe. i placed a bowl under the pipe and sis not see any water. the pressure when the central heating is on is about between 1 and 1.5. if i turn the heating off now at 8 a.m. it will have dropped to nearly 0 tonight.
Oh and dont know why i started a new topic think i just hit the wrong button lol. and yes really hate heating system right now :x :x :x :x :x :x
