Our baxi 105e combi boiler has decided to take christmas off, by giving us no CH or hot water. We have tried to reset it but it's still on strike. It is showing two green lights for water and heat no orange pilot light when tap is turned on and a flashing red light for the fan. I have visually checked the flue for any blockages and have seen none. Has anyone any ideas please. Thanks Val.

The brain is telling you that it hasn't been told the fan is working sufficiently to operate the boiler safely so won't allow it's use.

A number of causes.

Failed fan
failed fan connection
failed air pressure switch
failed air pressure switch connection (aps)
spider has made cobweb in venturi inside flue ways through which aps senses flow.
aps test point knocked off by mistake
cracked split or not well fitted hose/s between aps and flue sensing point
poor contact between aps and pcb (which houses the clever mind that knows something is wrong, or at least thinks so.)

What we would do is open up, watch fan, if it doesn't move test for voltage to it, if there is a good supply change fan. If it does move put u guage at test point and see flow, I would have to look up this boiler but expect 1 to 2 mbar would be OK. If so move on to aps after checking for mechancal problems in pneumatics. If flow not good, dissassemble and clean out venturi and flue ways, reassemble and test again. If still fails see if aps is passing on message to boiler that fan is on, if not change aps if it is change pcb.

Allways checking with BAxi help line before making decision to order part.

Or just bang it top right and if it comes on tell local corgi engineer you need a new aps.

To avoid these sort of problems move to a house with an Ideal Mexico.
