Have replaced the original plate heat exchanger on my Baxi 105e following issues with boiler cutting out, and rather than throwing it away was wondering if it can be used again by someone else if sufficiently cleaned?

I ran it under a tap and some black bits came out, but not too much. Does it need special chemicals to remove any rubbish in there?

At the concentration involved it doesnt damage plates at all i have used it hundreds of times over past couple of decades and on the odd occasion i have left it in for days when i have forgot that they are being cleaned with no ill effect
