We have had our boiler in our property for 20 months and it has been very good up to now....
Yesterday it started heating the radiators on its own with the indoor timer off.
We messed about with it a bit and it seems that if you have the room timer off and the radiator stat on and run a hot tap, the radiators (that are on) get hot.
You can of course turn all the rads off manually.
I am insured with Barclays so they are sending a repair man round, but please does anyone out there have any thoughts on this problem?
A friend of ours said it seems like the heat exchanger!!

Just out of interest how much would this exchanger thing cost anyway?

Thanks for replies

Do you mean that the rads heat up whilst running a tap or they heat up even when a tap is not running?

They only heat up if we run one of the hot taps

The will of course heat up if we turn the room timer on to run it normaly

Sounds like the diverter valve is passing.

Its an easy job on that boiler.

Thank you for your replies...
Just out of interest is there a way of checking this?
