Hi, we have a baxi back boiler, not sure of model but it was installed in 1992, heating working well but lately it's refusing to warm the water beyond taking the chill off occasionally unless the heating is on too, then it's great. Does anyone have any ideas on cause and likely cost of repair? Don't want to be spending out too much as we're hoping to get a combi in sooner rather than later as we have a log burner for our heating.
Thanks

Is the HWQ gravity or pumped?

Gravity: Blockage in flow, at the junction with the cold feed
Or General buid up of gunk along the length of flow and return
Or Someone screwed down a balancing gate valve
Pumped:
Cylinder stat fault
Or Motorised valve fault
Or Someone screwed down a balancing gate valve

In short it can be one of many things!

It may just be that the balltap is hung up in the feed & expansion tank, and the system is running dry if on gravity primaries.
