Hi all,
I have a Baxi Barcelona gas boiler and recently have been havin a nitemare with the system. :x
All was working well until 4 weeks ago when the boiler kept going into overheat/lockout. We called phoenix gas out who promptly replaced the ignition board and a sunvic valve to the tune of £220!
Since then water was not heating and was still going into lockout, so rang a friend who was a plumber and he had a look. He removed the NEW sunvic valve saying it was causing the system to lockout and it was a pointless thing to have. He turned water temp up on the hot water tank and all is almost well now, i got any amount of hot water and no more lockouts.
However, we recently had the bathroom tiled and the 2 rads were off for this, also had a leak in the front room rad, so when he was round i got him to turn the 3 rads back on. The problem im having is that the upstairs rads are all ROASTING but the d/stairs are ALL lukewarm. Have bled the rads, very little air in any of them.
As my wife is expecting our first child in 5 weeks this in turning into a bit of an emergency issue ( winter and all that), so much that im so sick of it all i would gladly replace the LOT!!
Any help (idiots guide) would be GREATLY appreciated as im getting it from all angles!
Many thanks.

You might want to consider putting trvs on the upstairs rads as the upstairs rooms will always get hotter quicker due to heat rising.
You should also consider balancing your system, details are HERE :D

was asked to look at a barcelona today politely declined, good luck with phoenix,as for your problem turn all rads off upstairs and force the heat downstairs one rad at a time .
