baxi bermuda 51/5 boiler locking out

have just moved into house with this bbu/fire. when either heat or hot water is on control pcb goes to lock out,re-set the stat pcb light turns amber then green and fires up. this works approx 30 mins then locks out. same process every time,hot water temp is fine and all radiators heat up when bb is on.red light is on when locked out no flashing or funny noises .ive seen previous tenant and problem is about 2 months old,they got a gas man in to check but as far as i can make out it was for service,according to the gas paperwork things are ok regarding ventiliation,gas pressure,etc. i know its up to landlord to sort out but they are round the world for the next 8 months starting in s.africa world cup so he dont want anymore bad news lol thanks for any info

When it comes to gas safety you cant worry about your landlords world cup woes (ha ha!!)

If he has gone off around the world he should have left a representive who can authorise gas repairs, this boiler is fitted with an oxy-pilot, and given that the boiler works for about 30mins before lock out it is possible that the flueing or ventilation just could be at fault, or it may be a boiler overheat fault, involving the thermistor, overhreat stat or PCB

Whatever the cause it does need proffessional attention

ring up the company who did the landlord check and see if they will have a look
it will be on the form they left

If he can afford 8 months round the world, he can afford to get the boiler fixed!

Bother him as much as is needed
