We have just come back from holiday and have returned to the pipework and header tank of our boiler making some ungodly noises.
Our bedroom is in the eves so it sounds incredibly loud, like rushing water or steam. We have only got the hot water set for an hour in the morning and hour in the evening at the moment. This clanking etc tends to happen around these times.
We had someone out during the day and he couldn't recreate the noises and thought there might be too much air in the system so he just bled all of our radiatiors.
Since then, if anything it has probably gotten worse or more frequent.
I have also felt some mild heat coming from the boiler/fire front when neither are on.
Does it sound like a flue blockage, blocked pipes or something more sinister?
All advice greatly appreciated!
