on monday we had an annual service done on our boiler. on wed morning we was woken by rushing water sound in airing cupboard,on opening attic it was full of steam coming from the small tank up there. the hot water was VERY hot. almost boiling. it is a baxi bermuda 45/7 combi boiler.could this be any thing to do with having it serviced or is it just coinsidance.

combi boilers do not require a "tank in the loft" so your can not be a combi

Try turning your cylinder stat down and whether there is enough water in your cistern.
Sounds like it is overheating :(

Methinks maybe the engineer has forgotten to put the thermostat phial back in it's hidey hole.

thats pretty much what i thought. anyhow at the moment everything is switched off as said engineer can not get back out to us til wednesday. is it just a matter of him rectifing the probe,or will the overheating have caused any further problems?

Nah. It'll have done as much damage as a fart in a brick **** house
