Hello; I have a Baxi Bermuda Back boiler and currently the boiler part is working fine but the fireplace in front refuses to ignite. When trying to ignite the fire i can see a spark and can hear gas flow... but other than that no joy. What ever the issue is i think it was something that deteriorated over time, a few moths ago the fire ignited fine, then it started taking longer and longer to get it going, and eventually the 'dial' had to be held in for a while to let some gas build up before it would ignite.

Is this a simple fix? regardless any help/info would be appriciated. :)

Probably simply the spark electrode moved slightly out of the path of the gas, or just some muck in the area under the spark preventing the gas from going over the spark straight away.
