baxi boiler plat 40 series

Hi, does anyone know why a baxi plat combi series 40 would just switch itself on . Mine has done this twice now

Does it lock out and you have to re set it?

Does it display any thing, error codes etc?

Does it just stop firing but the display on the boiler is normal?

Hi, There are no lights on at all when it starts, the only way we know its on is heat and smoke billowing out of the pipe outside. The thermostat is set to off? I think it just has a mind of its own. I had to switch it off wait a while and then switch back on. Very strange? Any help would be great, thanks

Where is the boiler situated, is it out side?

Is it Just installed?

What thermostat and clock do you have?

try turning the water thermostat down.....possibly preheat for the boiler. rtm

Depending where you are if it's cold enough and it's in an unheated area it could be the frost protection

If it has a wireless stat, I've had issues were the dip switches weren't set properly and it was picking up signals from another stat.

Or the pre heat as above. The boiler does kick over every 24 hours as well just to keep everything moving

Do the rads get hot when it comes on ?
