hi, many thanks in advance for any replies. Had a baxi combi 105he fitted in late 2007. Has been great, touch wood.

Last night the central heating went off, but I still have hot water when needed. Had a look at the trouble shooting section of the manual and tried the few tests in that, like turning the RAD heat demand up, to see if they came on. No luck with that......theres no lights flashing on the display to say somethings gone/broken.

Done anyone have any ideas?? thanks again for any replies. It greatly appreciated.

Have you tryed to reset? its a bit early to stick my neck out and say pcb !

Thanks for your reply, Yes done the reset thing. What doe PCB mean? im hoping thats not an reference to an expensive part? Only been in since 18/08/2007, do you think baxi would cover any expensive repairs in this time?

Turn CH dial on boiler up to max.

Do you have a roomstat somewhere? Turn that up as well.

If its a manual type you should hear it 'click' when its turned above the current ambient temp. If its a digital one - the screen would normally show a flame or similar to indicate demand.

If its a wireless stat don't forget to check batteries!

Thanks Joe, done all of those checks you mentioned mate. Its a wireless stat, which had new battery's approx 1 month ago. Driving me nuts this.....the house seems colder now we know we aint got heat!!!

You can usually overide the thermostat at the reciever unit located near the boiler, depending of coarse on the type/model of room stat.

Yes June, we have got our heating on.........mmmmmmmmmm Toasty ;)

Yeah height of british summer an all that!

OK, as baxmax said, there is normally an override button/switch on the receiver for the stat mounted/wired near the boiler - that would then tell you if there is a problem with the boiler or controls.

What stat is it? Make/model? Analogue/digital?

Open boiler up link out on terminal strip the room stat connections if it then fires up you know boiler ok

Failure to operate:
If the heating fails to come on when the thermostat is
calling for heat check the battery low indicator on the
thermostat display. If the display has faded replace
the batteries as you may have previously overlooked
the battery low indications. If the batteries are
removed for more than 5 to 10 minutes the unit may
need to be re-commissioned (see above).

More Clues...

Test button is easiest + first to check - does receiver green light come on when test pressed?

Thanks guys, joe and bax max. Im going to go over the instructions you mention tonight and ill see what happens. Much appreciated guys.
