The pressure keeps dipping on my Baxi Combi Instant 105e. Last time it dipped so low it conked out. It's starting to slide again but as the engineer who came didn't seem to have to do a lot to get it sorted, I wondered if it was something I could sort myself - is it just a case of turning a tap somewhere? If so, could anyone tell me which one?

Cheers for your help

Do I take it that you have not been instructed on how to repressurise?

Thats a user job and very simple to do. See the FAQ section on this site.

Any proper engineer should have shown you how to do it while he was there.

Its also part of the required procedure when a boiler is fitted to demonstrate the controls to the user. Cowboys dont bother though!

Thanks for the advice, I'll try it when I get home tonight. It might not dip too low again but I wanted to be armed in case it did. The engineer who came round was about 12 years old and wanted to be in and out as quickly as possible so he didn't show me anything. Anyway, I'll let you know if I have any problems, otherwise, thanks very much for your help!

Oh dear!

Check the expansion vessel at the schrader valve, has it lost its charge (and is full of water instead of air)?
