Hi, I'm having difficulty getting hot water or heating. I know the solution (engineer told me) but I don't know how to do it.

Basically, the boiler is new but my radiators are old, so dirty water from the radiators gets into the boiler, all I have to do is open that thing below and clean it up (It was very filthy when the engineer came). I would really appreciate if someone can tell me how to open it, I've tried twisting and turning it but to no avail. I'm looking forward to your replies!

Close the red valves either side of it then unscrew the top

If your system is that bad it should have been powerflushed prior to installing the boiler. It seems from you description that this was not done. This will invalidate your warranty

Has the ( rod) magnet been removed or do I need to visit Specsavers?

Do not care much for quality of plumbing work. If that is an indicator, no wonder you are having trouble

At least he used decent fittings. Yorkshire fittings now do them with braille instructions, maybe he got the wrong ones!!!
