Hi guys, I desperately need help please.. I have a Baxi duo tec combi 24 HE A boiler, about 3 years old.

The problem is, we have hot water, but no central heating... this is what I have done so far..

Checked the water pressure which is 1.3, so fine there.
Switched off the system completely and the remote controller device on the wall and left off for about 10 minutes.
Switched on mains, then remote, then the boiler.

Boiler clicked and whirred, the temperature display came on, the central heating light came on, then it clicked and whirred again, the "flame" light came on showing that the heating was required, it stayed on for about 15 seconds, the system went to a sighing noise and remains like that, then the light went off... no central heating..

Any clues anyone please?.... The divertor valve was changed about 12 months ago due to a leak/fault.

I desperately need help, we are coping with convector heaters at the moment which are eating up the electricity.

Thanks in advance.

Gill

Its most likely to be the wireless stat.

If you are so desperate then why not call an engineer?

Tony

Thanks Agile.... what do you mean by the wireless stat please? I can only call an engineer as the last resort due to finances, its out of warantee and we do not have a maintenance agreement on it. Thought I would try here to see if anyone knew what the problem was before spending a fortune to be told it was something simple.

Dear Desperate i dont know how you are coping with these "Artic " conditions you must be bloody freezing !
Have you tried changing the batteries in your remote control room stat ?

Hi Baxmax, yes I have changed the batteries, checked the water pressure, switched off the whole system and restarted it.. can't think of anything else...

Gill

Gill we know what your boiler is what make model is your roomstat sometimes if you "powerdown " or change the batteries you need to "marry " the transmitter to the reciever again.

Thanks Baxmax, it has been working fine since changing the batteries, the signal has been going to the boiler from the remote... I thought about resetting the remote, what do you think?

Gill

Gill i dont know what to think .....is the heating working now ?

Nope.. just the hot water... no heating at all.... someone I have spoken to have suggested the Divertor valve maybe sticking..

Yes I do read the replies.... when I said resetting the remote, I meant completely resetting it to factory settings, not just removing batteries etc. When I replaced the batteries recently, everything was as it should be and working properly. Its only gone off in the last few days, suddenly and for no apparent reason. I cannot see a make/serial etc. on the remote device, it was installed with the boiler.

Gill

Well there is where the problem is if we do not know what make and model items are we can not offer much advice but i do believe the fault is the stat/programmer.At the reciever usually located near the boiler have an overide option ?
