baxi genesis 80

I did not even know that this boiler had a preheat!

Sounds as if you need a rare boiler engineer who is comfortable with this plastic boiler.

Well........... what boiler have you got :!: :!:
Genesis has not got a preheat

Sorry I am a complete failure with this boiler, I'd rather see one than a Boxer but it's a close run thing. Better shut up because last time I said I wouldn't touch another Boxer I got one very next day and the people were so nice I just had to try and help them. Ended up doing the expected free call back though. First instinct was right, walk out.

Didn't think the Baxi Genesis GC No 47-077-01 was a re-badged anything.

IIRC the gc No. 47-980-12 chaff combi 80.
Only know that cos I changed a ch flow switch in one yesterday and thought eeeh bah gum that looks just like a genesis on the inside.

It sounds as if its not the flow switches this time but the pump!

I hate to think why even Baxi would want to rebadge a French plastic boiler.

The only good thing about them is the bits are cheap and take minutes to change ( except the pCB ).

The tale I heard is that in days of old when baxi built a decent boiler they found themselves lagging a bit in the combi market. They approached C&M and said "Can we buy your boilers and stick our badge on it until we develop our own technology" Of course the frogs agreed, made a fat wedge out of it and the rest is a history of flow switches and PCB's that go 2 at a time.

Then they came to their senses and bought the company who made Alpha boilers, but they didn't realise when they did so that Alpha had sole rights to them in the UK. A deal was done behinfd the scenes and the Alpha Ocean range became the Baxi80e and 105e.

Those old Alpha Ocean's are still in really great condition, if someone asked me to replace one with a new boiler I would take it off the wall real gently and have it at home.

Of course Alphaa who were smarting from having the rug pulled from under their feet forgot to mention the importance of making the Italian manufacturing company to use quality O rings, and they reverted to the cheap crap they were able to get away with in the rest of Europe..
