Well done the HW ntc is the one on the bottom right of the three way valve with green wires. Chances are you have justed pulled the lead while you were testing.

red h/w led flashes when switched on then goes off no hot water c/h is fine

You need to look in the book to see what fault it indicates. I think its one of the sensors.

With the boiler cold you can measure their resistance, should be about 13k.
