Hi there, i'cve seen a few posts about Baxis but none with this problem.

Pilot light will not light. Tried all that it says (which isn't much) on the back of the boiler cover. Tried reseting it, (turned off thermo for 15 secs then turned up) to no avail.

It sounds like it's wanting to light, there is a spark, sounds like gas ig getting into boiler. A plumber friend (not corgi mind you) of girl whos boiler is said there was gas goeeting through as he could smell it?? Think he might have had the regultor off.

Anything i might be overlooking before i hve to call ou my Corgi guy, he's awfully pricey as i'm sure you all know.

I know there's not alot of info so if you need anytrhing else let me know.

Cheers in advance

If its sparking then there is no gas getting to the pilot jet.

That could be a PCB issue, faulty gas valve or no gas ( or a blocked pilot jet! ).

That kind of problem needs a competent CORGI as you cannot hear the presence of gas and smelling for it makes me feel strongly that whoever you had there was firstly working illegally as he was not CORGI and doing something potentially dangerous.

I dont know what you consider "pricy" but Danny of Rannoch Services should be reasonable !

Cheers for the input Tony. It's a rented flat whos land lords i do work for and the tenant got her friend in to try and light it. I nearly had a fit when she said he had been tampering with it.

I'll try your "Danny", cheers for the contact, good to have a reffered gas engineer.

If he cannot sort it out then I cannot immagine who else could.

If he were to get stuck he would only be on the phone to Chris or me!

Pilot light will not light.

How can the main burner light Tony, if the pilot wont light.

I would suggest removing the Pilot Injector and check for blockages. I suspect the pilot tube has been removed to see if gas is passing...and yes it will. That is until it reaches the blocked pilot injector.

Basics checked on an annual service, with a pin vice and the narrowest guitar wire you can find.

Yes, I have edited my posting to say no gas getting to the "pilot jet".

However, all the rest you have said should not have been told to a tenant who one expects is not CORGI registered or otherwise competent to deal with gas issues.
