Hi fella's, hope somebody can help.

Was wokien up this morning by our Baxi boiler making a strange noise.

What seems to be happening is that when the boiler fires up it makes a rapid clicking noise (like a relay opening and closing very quickly) for a few seconds, then it will be ok, then it starts clicking again for a few seconds, and so on... This will go on for a few minutes before it seems to settle down. It was very bad first thing this morning, not quite so bad now that the boiler has been running for a while...

All the time we have heating and hot water. The pilot light is lit but pulsing with the clicking, as if the boiler is rapidly switching on and off.

Any ideas? Doing a Google appears to narrow it down to either the PCB, dirty or partially blocked pilot, or a breaking down solenoid.

PCB is a simple fix, the pilot and solenoid I'm not so sure about. i dont want to be messing around where there are any gas feeds...

Any help appreciated... :D

Sounds like flame sensing not working.
Get a competent engineer. If you start changing random parts yourself, you'll invalidate your house insurance, break the law and, incidentally, probably spend more money than you save!
