Long story short.

Here is what I did last week:

I'm going round tonight to fit a suitable tap.

However since I was there last week there has been complaints on the pipes banging and whining when the taps are opened or closed. (I haven't been round, only going on what I've been told).

The pipes in question are a cold feed to the bathroom for the WC, WHB and bath and are fed from a tank. The shower, kitchen sink cold are mains fed and are fine.

Is there anything I can do to cure the banging and whining noise without getting myself into further bother?

Cheers as always

I don't know about pipes whining but the odd clunk is due to the pipes moving because they aren't clipped to joists, walls etc.
Loo fill valves whine occasionally but this is usually the high pressure ones only.
John :)

Its still purging the system of air I guess - unless the hot is locally boiling somewhere
Do check that the loft fill valve can keep up with the demand though.
John :)

I will be sure to check it.

Don't think the hot will be affected anywhere.

My main problem is that the system was working fine before I fitted the tap therefore I need to do my best to get it right again

Thanks again
