Hi Just renovated our utility room and the final annoying bit is the plug in the belfast sink. The sink has been in place since about 1900!! During that time the retaining nut on the plug chain retainer has fallen off inside the body of the sink. I now have a hole to which I could put a new retainer and chain etc instead of the piece of string around the tap!! Problem as you will know is there is no access to the rear of the hole to attach the nut. Anyone know of a clever solution, I've got as far as an expanding rubber rawlplug but someone must have had this problem and fixed it before. Help, before the wife strangles me with the bit of string.
