Hi. Can anyone help my fan oven never reaches the correct temperature, I.e. set at 190 but only gets to 170 when the temperature light goes off. Have checked loads of websites without any joy :?

Can you measure it that accurately?

Most oven knobs are not that precise, i.e. it's difficult to tell where exactly the actual temperature mark is.

If the oven really is under-heating at the various settings a new thermostat or switch may be required.

Just thought - this is only actually a problem at maximum temperature.
At all the others you can turn it up a bit.

Many years ago 1978 we got a Belling stand alone cooker first fan oven we had. Seemed to burn everything and we got use to setting it to lower temperature. Hind sight the thermostat was faulty it was only after getting replacement we realised this.

Can't remember if there is an adjustment on thermostat since then both ovens both Belling have been OK. Likely best option is to change thermostat. However we tried to measure the heat in the oven and even with a fan oven it does vary within the oven and also according to material the sensor is made from as the top element is giving radiated heat as well as convected heat.

There is also likely a delay with some overshoot in the thermostat and oven temperature.

Calibration is also a problem with the thermometer used to check oven. I note my new oven again Belling will set higher than old one so even if under temp not really a problem compensating.

I did find this link on how to adjust. As to if your model is adjustable I don't know.
