Bentone Sterling 40 Oilfired Burner Cutting Out

Burner cuts out. When I try to Reset, The burner fires for a short time. I have to reset six or seven times before fires.

The Burner then runs for perhaps half an hour - presumeably until the correct watyer temperature is reqched.

Then, I have to go through the whole process again and the burner fires again.

Could dsomeone advbise me what the problem is!

Lets not go throwing parts at it just yet, but a good starting point is the solenoid coil on top of the oil pump.
It’s good to have a spare in anyway as it’s a known issue.
However....when was the burner last serviced, snd the boiler flueways cleaned?
