Berlingo Battery

There is an extra wire on the cable that leads to the positive terminal of the battery. It leads from the fuse box on the right hand side.

Is it supposed to be connected to anything? It just dangles there!

I do not know about the berlingo, but most cars I have seen have a separate supply for the electrics as you describe, with the thick cable going to the starter only. Is everything working OK?Does it have a terminal on it? Is there a corresponding wire coming from the fuse box( same colour)
