Dose sharpen to more of a point than a fine edge,a usually just use the square edge as a roughing pencil tbh and use the 2H or what ever a can find marking for finishings.

I'm no carpenter but when the council sent there carpenter out he left his jak pencil behind. I think he may have left it there because it was rubbish as every time he marked and cut something it was also to short and then he would have to use sealent.
