Which is better in a 9" grinder, thin or thick?

3mm Dewalt?

1.9mm Norton?

Or something else?? ~

I'm thinking thin will be quicker, but would get through more discs?

Max thickness of steel 10mm.

We normally use the thin 9" ones, (kroneflex) can be a bit wobbly on the initial stage of the cut, but slice through pretty quick once they are going.

I would say they dont wear any quicker than the 3mm thick ones, but if they get pinched very tight, it pulls the middles out. Can normally be avoided with a bit of thought.

The best disc is the one you have got with you!

I cut steels with any old disc that is in the cutter which I have with me. In most cases this is one of a cheap set from Aldi or Lidl and more often than not its a stone blade which has been left in the cutter. And they go through no problem. The secret is not to press on hard

Any of those discs will do it. I don't know how much you are cutting but 1 disc will be able to cut the steel into several sections!
