I need to secure the male end of a WC pan connector (flexible) into a boss on a cast iron soilpipe. Could someone please recommend a decent compound for ensuring a watertight connection?

Before anybody suggests that I cut off the boss, this poses problems for two reasons: 1) the pan connector being used is the longest available, 585mm and will be stretched to its maximum just to get to the boss and 2) the larger part of the boss is behind a tiled wall and removing it will entail a fair bit of making good. Thanks for any advice. ;)

Put extension into soil pipe first, not boss, cut it to any length you want then fit your flexi into the extension. Then fill gap round boss with anything you want as it will just be for show. :)

They come in different sizes one for 31/2" cast one for 4" cast.

Great things, used to use them all the time, many moons ago. :)
