Is there a standard place to put the vent hole for a tumble dryer or does anyone have some experience as to the best place. The tumble dryer will be vented from behind the dryer.

Put it inline with the rear vent hole.
some driers can optionally vent from the side, that makes it easier to run the hose, especially if you later buy a different model. If the hose ends up between the machine and the wall, and will not push into the duct, then it will prevent the appliance being pushed back.

If the vents directly behind you won't need any hose.
