I'm about to do a rear suspension refurb on my car and it's near enough certain I'll need to cut out a number of arms where the bolts have seized into their metal bushing sleeves.

Any recommendations for the best blades for this? Back when I had a Jeep I frequented Jeep forums and Americans invariably recommended Diablo-brand blades; expensive, but have a reputation for durability and going through thick metal quickly.

That would be the answer to a completely different question, though :)

The cramped and awkward locations of the areas that will need to be cut makes a sawzall a much more practical tool for this specific job. Horses for courses, and all that.

Do you have any recommendations for specific brands of blades for going through thick metal?

as an aside
hacksaw blades will fit but off course you need the teeth pointing back you also need to weight the blade as it just pivots on the nipple
this can be acheived with a slot cut in a bit off wood

now i am not for one second suggesting "in normal use" its for the "one off"or "impossible to" situation or one offs when 10 mins wasted setting up is far less than than other solutions

Sawzall or Lenox.

Any blade would only be effective if the blade is prevented from bouncing about, and ideally the saw shoe is tight against the metal.

I've found that a mini grinder with 50mm disc gets in to almost anywhere under a car.
