Best Way To Fill These?

Hi all,

Got a couple of old socket holes and a new chase I need to fill.

I was thinking of using thistle undercoat plaster for the job but have a couple of questions,

First, would I be better of filling the socket holes with an off cut of timber to fill the bulk of the hole, then plaster over it?

Secondly what's the best way to apply the undercoat plaster? I'm assuming remove all the loose dust, seal with a pva/water mix, let it fully dry, apply a second pva mix leave it for 30 minutes or so to start going off then apply the plaster?

Do I just fill the holes, finish as best as possible then just leave to dry or will it need reworking after awhile to achieve a good finish?

You could PVA/SBR them then fill with bonding, then skim over that with multifinish.

Or you could PVA/SBR them, then mix 50% bonding and 50% multifinish and plaster them in, working them like multifinish.

Or do three or four fills and sanding with Easifill.
