Hello from Wales :)
 i bought some flooring 30sq metres in total, i want to lay it in the best but also the cheapest way, it is oak HS Solid Lacquer, plank size 18* 120* Random.
i wish to lay it on top of an already partly pauqet floor, and a part tiled floor ( the flat rubbery type) i have been told to glue it to the floor as it is @ a cost of £99pound per tub i may need 3-4, then ti was adviced to float it with 6mm plywood then to glue it, also with square underlay tiles then to just glue the joins     totally confused here as to what to do for the best i want this floor to last me a life time any help will be appreciated
thank you in advance
Elaine

Glueing down is the best when you have random length boards (specially when there are many short lengths.

Only, you will have a hard time glueing it to the tiled floor. Ply over it is the only solution.

Or return the lot and purchase quality wood-engineered boards you can float over a combi-underlayment (might even come out cheaper than what you are facing now).
