Best way to widen my garden gate in brick wall

I need to widen my garden gate to accommodate a motorcycle. It is currently 750mm and I am looking to go up to 900mm.

My only problem is that the gap is too narrow and must be widened.

My first idea was simply take a 300mm saw, cut 150mm off the wall and reaffix the posts.

Idea two was get my SDS drill and chisel out the mortar/pointing and turn the end bricks 90° and repoint.

Thoughts?

Only way to make it wider is remove some of the bricks. How you do it is up to you. Cutting with a saw would be quickest way, hopefully wall holds up to the work. Reaffix posts and fit a wider gate and you're away.

Or just cut a gap for the handlebars.

how wide is the gap - brick to brick?
move the posts and have the gate slightly in

or was the 750mm brick to brick

if posts around 75mm thats 150m
750 +150 = 900

whats on the other side of the gate

That post looks more like 50mm to me
