Personally I would choose aluminium. Slightly more expensive but has slimmer profile and does not twist. Also, powder coat finish is less susceptible to green stain.

Aluminium every time.

As maltaron says, slimmer profile: therefore more glass.

The Bees Knees are aluminium clad with timber inside. If money was no object I'd have Velfac.
