at the mo i have an inbuilt programmer would like to put an external one on. does not seem to be any info in the manual about being able to fit one. is it possible to fit one and which is compatable? any help thanks very much

Yes. If you dont have a roomstat then its fitted where the link for extenal controls will be. If you do then its slightly more complicated.

The existing clock is just left on 24hrs

You need a timswitch aswell. Not programmer!
 
Page 17 of the installer manual; shows a 0v switching line on the main terminal block for a room stat; something like a Drayton LP111 or LP711 will do the job... Don't forget to leave the old clock on constant ;)

yeh, just make sure no ding bat puts main volts in to it :rolleyes: you know who you are out there :eek:
 
Just wire 1 of the boiler 0v wires to the clock "common"; then the clock "on" to the room stat "common" and then the room stat "on" to the other 0v on the boiler.
