Hi all

Hope someone can point me in the right direction

Have a fault with a Biasi Riva - seems to turn on, ignite, then turn off.

Hot water gets briefly warm, as do radiators.

Fault lights indicate 'lack of burner ignition (no ignition signal from the full sequence ignition device)'

I can reset it about 5 times, before i have to turn the boiler off at the plug and back on again.

Model M296.24SM/c

I have made a quick video showing what happens >

Have I missed something simple?

I'm not looking to attempt a repair myself - unless anyone can suggest something that is safe for me to do so.

Would be handy to have an indication as to where fault might lay when I call out an engineer. The chap who I normally use is on his hols, so will have to use an unknown.

Thanks

Your boiler has a combustion fault which we cannot advise on here.

In fact it is almost certainly as a result of careless installation.

It is also very dangerous too!

Thanks for the quick reply

Bit of a worrying thing to say without expanding any further

Should I be concerned enough to switch the main gas supply off? Cease any further attempts at starting it?

So an installation fault rather than a component ...

Solved

Took a gas safe engineer about 5 mins to fix, so cost no more than call out charge.

He cleaned the flue and refitted.

I asked if it was unsafe as it was, and he didn't seem to think so, but had a gas safety check done at the same time anyway, all A-OK.

Hopefully this is helpful to others.
