Bifold door systems

Hi All,

I posted a similar question previously but didn't get many responses. Here's another attempt.

I am after a set of aluminium doors for an opening which is 3.5 metres. Every vendor I speak to claims that their system is the best. Can you advise on which system I should be purchasing for my use?

I used Affordable Window Systems Limited, saved over a grand compared with local suppliers, assuming you are fitting yourself.

Depends what your budget is. Some systems are dearer than others. Middle of the road but great quality are aluk and smart visofold

budget is around 4k for a 3.5 metre opening. Where do you pitch Schuco and how good are Smart doors?

Schuco are great doors but quite expensive. You will have no probs with smart or aluk.

My 3m doors came in at around 2k. quoted just over 3k by local supplier. [same manufacturer].

The current supplier is suggesting that Smart would be my best choice...

With Smart I have been told (have just ordered my first set of them for a customer) that their low wheelchair threshold is not weather rated.

I have fitted several sets of Warmcore bi-folds and have liked them so far.
I would definitely say stay away from PVC bifolds.
