Whenever I listen to the news on BBC, ITV, SKY, all I seem to hear is the so called experts dumbing down the country and the economy.
They seem to revel in giving us bad news and concentrate on the negative aspects.
Currently its the fall in the £ against the $.
At one time that was good news for exports now its bad news.
Yes I know about petrol and imports.
The stocks market is at its highest for years but we hear little about that from them and its effects on pensions etc.
Today Sky seem to be wishing for a triple dip recession, I get the impression that they will be disappointed if we don't have one.
God they make Joe90 seem like an optimist!

Here's betting you weren't moaning when the politicians were telling us we hadn't had it so good whilst they lined their pockets... ;)

Err! I only just remember McMillan, it was him who said that wasnt it?

Get used to it. Reality is only just beginning to intrude on the mainstream media. They've been gormlessly optimistic since this mess began.

I don't really watch the news for that reason. If there is a disaster somewhere in the world, the more people that die, the happier they are.

I recently read Piers Morgan's life story. When he first started at the sun, he was hoping for a big news story he could report on and he thought he had it when he heard about a major plane crash. After hearing all the details, he stood up at his desk in front of everyone and without thinking shouted 'F**k it, they were all German.'

Pessimism is good as its a by product of realism.
If you can't stomach a good dose of pessimism then you've had it far too handy all your life.

What a load of b**locks, so your glass is always half empty.
As for having it to handy, if you have really experienced hardship, you will realise that there is only one way to go and that is up.
Pessimism is the killer.

I'm guessing you don't own a hard hat or goggles then?

IMHO you need to give the journalist and media a break, they are only trying to make a living.

The Falklands, Gulf, Iraq, and Afghanistan wars are either over or scaled down.
The median and the government have nothing to hide behind at the moment, so journalism has to become creative.
(Creative meaning they have to exaggerate and lie even more)

Historically during times of war the papers and TV are full of events relating to a particular war. What a lot don't notice is how government cock ups tend not to make main headlines.

I bet the government cant find another war quick enough.

But what do I know, I gave up reading the daily's years ago, much prefer to read a good porn mag, at least I know that's fiction. ;)
