I have a coil of 25mm black meter tail cable, is it permissable to use it providing you maintain coloured ID of each cable either with tape or TY-WRAPS., or is it scrap.

Cheers Mick.

I suppose the meter seals have already been removed by someone else?

Puzzled by your comment ?

I have several old coils of T&E cable which I know are no longer valid as its the old colours, I wondered about the validity of the 25mm black, is it scrap or can someone benefit from it.

Mick.

It would be compliant with the current edition of BS7671 so long as you sleeve appropriately at the terminations. Although personally, if you still have red/black it seems more sensible to leave it as that for consistency if extending an existing red/black circuit.

Again, would be compliant if identified appropriately at the terminations.

Actually you can easily make a sound case for the law requiring you to use old colour cable to extend/maintain old installations if you have it available.
