Hey all just wondered if anyone had any tips on removing black mould from a painted bathroom ceiling?

Any advice is massively appreciated

Need more insulation above. Need to stop ceiling getting cold.
Open window or fit extractor.
Wash ceiling with sugar soap but the mould will stain

HG black mould spray. Brilliant stuff but unless you sort the cause it will always return

As the others have said, wash the ceiling. I would use dilute bleach.

Again, as they suggest, you have airflow problems, It also sounds like you have matt emulsion on the ceiling, ideally a ceiling subject to high levels of moisture would have water based eggshell.

Over the years I have painted ceilings in bathrooms with inadequate ventilation. The moisture forms on the ceiling and literally drops down to the floor, but it doesn't develop black mould, and it were to, it could be wiped off with ease.

All those have bleach which will damage the paint. Be fine If you plan to paint again.

HG mold spray is magic - definitely look at addressing the underlying issue first though - extractor fan, insulation etc
