The toilet has been leaking at the back. I have been blaming it on the kids for years but when I looked I found that the connection is completely shot and it goes into a 4" cast iron pipe with a female end. What do I need to sort it out. Cheers.

Yuo have two options;
1) call a friendly local qualified plumber
2) keep blaming the kids for thex how many years.

Continue to blame the kids and pay a plumber out of the kids pocket money.
Im not a plumber by anymeans, but id go with a 4inch male conection.

denso. push it in any larger gaps, then wrap some around. use gloves...and smear it tight into the joint and you should have a good seal.
