Does anyone have any advice please on how to bleed a radiator with this kind of valve? The temp control on the other side says it's Pegler Terrier valve. Is it just a case of undoing the brass nut? Can you tell I'm a total novice?!

Here is a pic of the valve: //www.diynot.com/network/garethbt/albums/

Thanks for any help you can offer!

Radiators are bled from the top bleed screws and NOT the rad valve. Why do you think your rad needs bleeding? It is normally only when the top is full of air and therefore colder than the bottom.

Hi Pete, It's scorching hot at the bottom and freezing at the top. There are no valves at the top, just a couple of nuts.

Unless whoever installed it has fitted two blanking plugs to the top tappings, one of the top plugs should have a square headed bleed screw in it. Undo it carefully (they are a brass thread so easily stripped!) and the air should release. If you have a sealed system, the pressure need to be checked whilst bleeding, if it drops too low then the boiler wont work and you could cause problems elsewhere....

System needs to be switched off whilst you bleed rads.
