Hi All,

I had some block paving done about 3 weeks ago and I have just noticed that there is a white chalky deposit forming on top of the blocks and up the front of the step, can somebody tell me what it is and how to remove the stuff?

Cheers

It is known as efflorescence, its basically calcium carbonate and some salts from the manufacturing process. It should wash and wear off after time

Cheers for the info,
should I jet wash it off and then seal the blocks? would this stop it coming again?

no it will keep coming for a wjile. just brush it off.

Making it wet, it will just soak back into the bricks/blocks.

You will need to brush it off. As said above.
