Hi all, just wondering what I'm supposed to do with the huge gaps in the cavity walls either side of the French doors. We are boarding the room, but should I do something with these holes before boarding over them?

See attached photos.

Cheers.

get cavity closers from somewhere like Eurocell

As a side question , are those doors flush against the outside wall, normally a rebate is suggested to aid with weather proofing....

Ah ha, awesome thank you.

Yes, they're set in about 25mm from external brickwork.

Another side question, our builder has suggested that the lintel above the doors is the wrong way round and that it should be upright rather than flat. It's a 2700x140x100mm concrete lintel. Any idea if it'll be ok?

Actually, sorry, it's not the lintel above the doors, it's the lintel over the internal walls.

We stuffed some insulation into them? Not sure if that is the right thing to do but the building control inspector advised us to do it when he came round. Then the plasterer boarded it up and plastered over it.
