Evening all,

I'm after a bit of advices on blocking up an internal doorway between two rooms. I've taken off the surround and door frame ready to crack on but the gap is 144mm and I'm wondering what size wood to use. 9mm plasterboard on either side leaving about 126mm to build the stud wall (minus a couple of mill for the skim)

What size studwork should I go for? The usual trade places have 89mm and 144mm.. I could use the 63mm stuff and do one at each side butted up together but that doesn't leave much for the skim.

Apologies its a long question, any help would be greatly appreciated.
