Hi,

I'm painting my hall. It was papered with a midtone flat paper. I washed the paper down and gave it two coats of white matt paint as an undercoat. I have now put the topcoat on and it has come out very blotchy, thicker in some places than others, it looks awful. Do I need to thin the paint out (it's B&Q water based matt) if so to what degree? Please help as I have put in a lot of time and effort.

Thanks

Ann

If you are are emulsioning over an Finished Wallpaper then i am afraid these papers are not designed to take emulsion. Therefore, to put it bluntly it is a situation of which you have created yourself. What is the actual name of the emulsion & make & instructions ? Was the Wallpaper porous or non-porous ?
