Blow off from hot water cistren

hey all

a friend of mine asked me for some advice on his system boiler..

when his DHW or CH is running his blow from his stored hot water into his F + E tank starts to run, and apparently makes a bit of a noise.. i haven't been down to have a look yet, but i was thinkin along the lines of extending the pipe to compensate for the pump over run.... try about 450mm above the water level in the F+E tank for a start...

any other suggestions lads???

Fit a de-aerator in such a way that the feed and vent connect into it.
Meanwhile turn the pump speed down a notch or two
